Interview with Björn Torgilsson, CEO BJ System.
Björn Torgilsson, CEO of BJ System, decided to invest in wind shares on behalf of the company in 2007. The primary reason was security. ”We have secured our supply at prices which will not need to be renegotiated and which hold up well in a society where the cost of energy will continue to rise for the foreseeable future.”
Number of shares: 109
Annual CO2 saving: up to 87 tonnes
Financial saving: just over 40 percent on average
Company: BJ System develops, produces and markets control systems and concepts for a range of industrial operations. The company is based in Vallentuna outside Stockholm
What made you buy shares? There are two main reasons why I purchased shares on behalf of the company. Firstly, security. I have bought into the production stage and this allows me to secure a supply at prices which do not have to be renegotiated and which compare well in a society where the cost of energy will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. We may, of course, see a paradigm shift, such as the steam engine, but hardly before the best-before date of my wind turbines. The second reason has to do with the environment, since I want to do everything possible to contribute to my children’s environmental inheritance.
