Ponsivuori

The Ponsivuori wind farm is located in the municipality of Kurikka, Finland.

The wind farm consists of 7 wind turbines with a maximum height of 210 meters. The total capacity of the wind turbines is 29,5 MW, and the estimated annual production of the wind farm is 100 GWh which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 20,000 households (5,000 kWh/household).

The Ponsivuori wind farm is part of the Castle wind power project carried out for IKEA Finland. In addition to Ponsivuori, the project includes the wind farms of Ribäcken, Långmossa and Verhonkulma. The Ponsivuori wind farm was handed over to IKEA in January 2020. More information about the Castle project can be found here.
