Piiparinmäki

Piiparinmäki wind farm is located in the city of Kajaani and municipality of Pyhäntä, Finland.

The wind farm consists of 41 wind turbines with a total capacity of 211 megawatts and maximum height 230 meters. 9 of the wind turbines are in the city of Kajaani and 32 in the municipality of Pyhäntä.   

The wind farm has an estimated annual production of approximately 700 gigawatt-hours, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 140,000 households (5,000 kWh/household).    

Piiparinmäki wind farm was constructed in 2019–2022 and entered commercial production in June 2022. OX2 has been responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm since autumn 2024.   

Piiparinmäki is one of the wind farms managed by OX2 that has not been built by the company itself. The wind farm is owned by Nuveen Infrastructure.
