Our integrated value chain
We manage the full value chain, from new project opportunities (acquisitions and greenfield development) through development, sales, construction, technical and commercial management, ownership, and PPAs. This integrated approach helps us create long-term value and deliver renewable energy solutions efficiently and responsibly.
New projects
OX2 actively expands its portfolio through both acquisition of project rights and greenfield development.
Acquisition of project rights
- We leverage extensive experience in developing complex project rights to acquire projects from other developers.
Greenfield projects
- We also develop renewable energy projects from scratch (greenfield).
- Our high implementation rate makes us a reliable partner for landowners and local stakeholders.

Project development
Once a new project is identified, we take it through the full development phase.
- Projects in the development portfolio span from early stages (before permits) to late stages (all permits granted).
- For greenfield projects, development typically starts with a right-of-use agreement.
- Wind project development can take 5–10 years; solar and energy storage generally take less.
- Local offices work closely with landowners, authorities, and communities.
- Our local presence and specialist teams contribute to strong implementation and growth.
Nature and biodiversity: As part of development, OX2 aims for each wind and solar farm to achieve net positive impacts on nature, restoring or offsetting impacts through biodiversity initiatives.
Sales
We have a flexible sales model that captures value throughout the project lifecycle:
Flexible model
- For onshore wind, sales typically happen after permits are granted but before construction starts. Customers pay based on construction milestones, which creates stable cash flow.
- For large solar projects, we often sell when construction begins, while maintaining responsibility for construction delivery.
- We also sell project rights, as seen in recent transactions in Australia.
- In energy storage, projects have been divested in both Sweden and Finland
Our customers
- Sales are structured and supported by our strong market position.
- Customers include financial investors (who value stable cash flows and risk adjusted returns) and industrial buyers (investing in sustainable production to meet their own or their customers’ energy needs).
- Projects that integrate technical and commercial management are particularly attractive to buyers, and demand has been strong across markets.

Construction
We deliver projects with quality and control.
- Projects are constructed in close cooperation with suppliers and contractors.
- OX2’s strong position in European wind and renewable power development gives us priority access and negotiating strength with suppliers.
- Construction contracts are typically fixed price at the time of sale, giving clear visibility on project profitability from the outset.
- We ensure all construction partners adhere to our health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- OX2 is responsible for meeting environmental and local permit conditions throughout construction.
Technical and commercial management
We provide asset management services that optimize asset performance over time.
- Once operational, assets are monitored and optimized for technical performance.
- We handle operations and maintenance, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Comprehensive commercial management includes reporting, performance tracking, and oversight of obligations with partners and markets.
- This ongoing management protects value and supports long term returns.
Ownership
OX2 increasingly invests in operational assets, thereby operating as an independent power producer. It is a long-term commitment to project success.
- OX2 retains ownership of selected projects, integrating lifecycle knowledge into management and optimization.
- Long term ownership aligns us with partners and investors for sustainable performance and continued value creation.
- Our approach strengthens credibility and enables consistent quality throughout a project’s life.
Offtake
OX2 secures energy offtake through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Contracts for Difference (CfDs), depending on market and project type.
PPAs
- Long-term corporate agreements that provide revenue certainty for electricity supplied to buyers.
- OX2 has signed PPAs across Europe and Australia since 2013.
CfDs
- Price-stabilizing contracts with public entities that guarantee a fixed electricity price.
- OX2’s first owned IPP project, the Rutki solar farm in Poland, operates under a 15-year CfD.
Through these agreements, OX2 ensures stable cash flows, supports investment decisions, and enables projects to deliver renewable energy efficiently while strengthening long-term ownership and value creation.
An integrated holistic approach
By being involved in every stage of the value chain, we take a holistic approach to our projects and ensure that each phase contributes to a stronger overall outcome. This gives us greater control over risks, improves efficiency in execution, and enables continuous optimization over time.
This integrated approach is the foundation for how we create long-term value, by delivering reliable renewable energy, developing sustainable assets, and building strong partnerships with investors and stakeholders.
