Transporting turbines by river and road
The final wind turbine was installed at the Green Breeze wind farm in Romania in December 2025, a huge milestone for our first onshore wind project in the country.
But simply transporting blades and turbine components of this scale was an engineering challenge in itself. This video shows what it took to get them to site, including navigating the Danube by barge to overcome infrastructure constraints.
Green Breeze is OX2’s first project in Romania, owned by Nala Renewables. It comprises 16 Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines and a total capacity of 99.2 MW.
The wind farm is expected to generate 312 GWh annually, enough to power around 51,000 households, and avoid approximately 150,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
