About the project

The Kantinkulma solar power project is located in the municipality of Marttila in Varsinais-Suomi region, Finland.

The planned capacity of the project is 40 MW. Once completed, the annual energy production of the solar farm is estimated to be approximately 44 GWh, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of almost 9,000 households (5,000 KWh per household).

What’s next?

The technical design of the project has started. The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre) of Southwest Finland issued its decision on the need for an environmental impact assessment (EIA) in autumn 2023. The project does not require an EIA procedure. The licensing process for the project is currently underway and is expected to be completed during 2024.

The aim is to obtain an investment decision for the construction of the project by spring 2025 and to start construction in the same year. The solar power farm is expected to start operating in 2026.
