About the project

The Tyrinselkä wind farm is located in the municipalities of Humppila, Jokioinen and Ypäjä in Kanta-Häme, Finland.

The wind farm, comprising a total of eight wind turbines, has been built in two phases. The first phase, Tyrinselkä 1, consists of four wind turbines located in Jokioinen. These turbines have a total rated power of 12 MW and each turbine has a total height of 210 metres. Tyrinselkä 1 was commissioned in 2016.

The second phase of the wind farm, Tyrinselkä 2, consists of three wind turbines in Ypäjä and one in Humppila. The total rated power of the turbines is 17.1 MW. The maximum height of the turbines on the Ypäjä side is 220 metres and the turbine on the Humppila side is 230 metres. Tyrinselkä 2 was commissioned in 2021.

The total rated power of the eight power plants in the wind farm is 29.1 MW. Its estimated annual production is about 99 gigawatt-hours, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 20,000 households (5,000 kWh/household). The wind farm is connected to Caruna's electricity grid.

OX2 has been responsible for the technical and commercial management of the Tyrinselkä wind farm since early 2024. Tyrinselkä is one of the wind farms implemented by a third party and managed by OX2. The wind farm is owned by Aquila Capital.
