Adressing the global challenges

Addressing global and complex challenges requires collaboration across borders and sectors. OX2 therefore aligns its work with international agreements, frameworks, and principles.

2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

A universal and holistic agenda for sustainable development adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The 2030 Agenda encompasses 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets. We aim to deliver and contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Our greatest focus is on SDGs 7, 9, 13 and 15, as these have a clear link to our core operations and mission to accelerating access to renewable energy, but we contribute to some extent to most of the SDG’s.

UN Global Compact

A principle-based framework in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environment, and anti-corruption. OX2 are signatories to the UN Global Compact.

Paris Agreement

An agreement between governments to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees compared to pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels. OX2 aims to contribute to the fulfilment of the 1.5-degree ambition.

Science Based Target initiative

The SBTi is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that drives ambitious corporate climate action by enabling companies to set science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. Find a list of companies taking action on the SBTi website.

OX2 has committed to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 and to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions.

The Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

An investor-led initiative to support the transition towards a low-carbon economy based on recommendations and supplementary disclosures. OX2 are TCFD supporters, meaning we support, promote, and follow the TCFD recommendations.

Kunming-Montreal Agreement and the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF)

An agreement between governments, encompassing 4 goals and 23 targets, that set out an ambitious pathway to reach the global vision of a world living in harmony with nature by 2050. The GBF formalizes the global goal for nature, aiming to achieve a nature-positive world by 2030.

OX2 aims to contribute to the fulfilment of the global goal for nature by addressing impacts on biodiversity in its projects.

Task Force on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)

A market-led and science-based initiative supporting the shift in global financial flows away from nature-negative outcomes and toward nature-positive outcomes. The TNFD recommendations guide organizations in how to report and act on evolving nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities.

OX2 are TNFD Adopters, aiming to integrate the TNFD recommendations into corporate reporting.

Business for Nature’s Call to Action

A corporate call to action, encouraging policy makers to adopt ambitious nature policies. OX2 is a signatory to the Business for Nature’s Call to Action.

European Business Nature Commitment

Commitment to work proactively and methodically with biodiversity (assess – commit – transform – disclose). OX2 is a signatory to the business charter.
