Galene

The Galene offshore wind project is located in the Kattegat, 22 km off the coast of Varberg in Halland County. The wind farm is expected to generate approximately 1.7 TWh of electricity annually, corresponding to the electricity consumption of around 320,000 households. A substantial increase in renewable electricity generation is required to enable the green transition. Sweden has significant potential for offshore wind power, and there is a growing need to expand electricity production, particularly in southern Sweden.

In partnership with Ingka Investments

OX2 is developing Galene together with Ingka Investments, part of the IKEA Group, which is a co-owner of the project. Ingka Investments is a long-term investor with ambitious climate targets. The company invests heavily in renewable energy generation and today owns more than 2 GW of renewable energy capacity.
