About the project
Sunshine State Solar Farm will generate 110MW of renewable electricity for Australian consumers. The solar farm will cover 190 hectares of a disused sugarcane plantation located 4km north of Balgal Beach, Queensland.
The site is ideal for a solar farm with the region being well known for its high solar resource. The land has suitable topography and is free from environmental constraints. Powerlink’s transmission lines transverse the site enabling connection to the national electricity network.
