Lestijärvi

The Lestijärvi wind farm is located in the municipality of Lestijärvi, Finland.

The wind farm is the largest in Finland with a total of 69 turbines and a total capacity of 455.4 megawatts. The maximum height of the turbines is 240 meters.

The estimated annual production of the wind farm is over 1.3 TWh, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 280,000 households (5,000 kWh/household).

The construction of the Lestijärvi wind farm started in November 2021. The wind farm was handed over to its owners in December 2025. The wind farm is owned by a consortium formed by the Finnish energy companies Kymppivoima, Oulun Energia, and Kuopion Energia. OX2 is responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm.
