Om projektet

OX2 is planning the Harvest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), across a project area of approximately 1,630 hectares. The site is located in Hill River, northeast of Badgingarra, within the Shire of Dandaragan in Western Australia (WA). The Project includes a BESS and associated infrastructure such as a substation and access roads.

The Project includes a BESS, with a footprint of 4.2 ha and a capacity of 100MW. Importantly, the battery would store up to 4 hours of energy to dispatch to the grid during periods of peak demand, increasing grid stability and energy security.

The Project is proposed to connect directly to the existing 132kv Eneabba to Kerr-McGee Cataby transmission line, which crosses the site, via a terminal station proposed to be located within the project area.

The Project will be co-located with OX2's proposed Dinner Hill Wind Farm.

We are currently in the early stages of the Project's development. Subject to planning and environmental approvals and grid connection agreements, construction is expected to commence in 2028 and operations are expected to begin in 2029.

Project Benefits

The Harvest BESS will store energy for use when it's needed most. It will provide reliable and affordable power, helping utilities quickly deliver electricity during peak times, outages, or shortages, improving energy security for WA.

The Project will also provide economic benefits to the region through procurement and employment opportunities created during construction and operations. A Community Benefit Program will also be developed in consultation with the local community and Traditional Custodians.

Community Engagement

OX2 is committed to collaborating with the local community, Dandaragan Shire Council and Traditional Custodians to understand community views and aspirations and to design a community benefit program that drives positive economic and social value. Community engagement activities will begin in late 2025.
