Linda Strindevall, Environment and Climate Change Manager, Sweden
Linda joined OX2 in January 2023 in a new role to the company. As Environment and Climate Change Manager, her responsibility is to develop and be part of implementing OX2’s environment and climate strategy.
What goes into an environment and climate strategy?
“First, you set targets. In OX2’s case, we have the long-term target to develop nature-positive wind and solar farms by 2030. Second, you identify the actions, processes, and governance required to meet the targets. Finally, you measure, analyze and report the outcome. Sustainability reporting is a big thing today and growing. Today it’s almost on par with financial reporting. To help navigate through this you need a roadmap.”
What does a roadmap do?
“It’s putting the strategy into practice. A roadmap concretizes our nature and climate actions as a company. It encompasses how we are to elevate our nature and climate-related performance in line with stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements. The roadmap will include setting greenhouse reduction targets, actions required to meet the targets and development of system support.”
What do you like the most about your job?
“I find it rewarding to work with something that has a clear contribution to a more sustainable society. Ensuring that we integrate environmental and climate perspectives into our company introduces me to many colleagues and functions, which I find fun. We might work in different markets, technologies, and teams – but we are all a part of increasing our sustainability performance and future-proofing our company.”
